Hand built and heavily textured black stoneware moon jar with a matt white glaze applied in variable thickness to reveal the rich texture and variation of the surface markings. The iron oxide in the clay reacts with the white glaze producing a beautifully textural pitted surface. This piece has been glazed inside so can hold water.
